How we organise ourselves |

The club is organised on traditional lines. We elect a Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary at the Annual General Meeting. We find that a formal constitution is necessary, so that the Club is able to arrange insurance to cover its activities, enter into contracts with service providers, (such as coach companies), and commit itself to providing services to members and to the wider community. The annual subscription, currently £5.00 for the year, gives members half-price admission to meetings, though anyone is invited to attend our meetings for £4.00, which covers the cost of the meeting room and the speaker's expenses. The meetings of the Committee have an agenda, which is published in advance, and all members are invited to ask that items be placed on the agenda if they wish to make a proposal. The Committee has the power to co-opt members, so that even if you don't put yourself forward at the Annual General Meeting, you can be certain that active members of the club will be welcomed.
